College and Young Professional Volunteer Roles

 LOGISTICS TEAM: Applicants can be new or previous HCI participants that are still in High School. 

 Responsibilities include:

  • preparing tutorial videos, taking virtual attendance

  • providing assistance to students or guests that are having trouble accessing HCI and other duties as needed

  • assisting 2-3 familias with technical issues or other issues as needed 

FAMILIA LEAD: Applicants must have completed at least 1 year of college by the start of HCI to serve as a LEAD and be at least 18 years of age.

 Responsibilities include:

  • being a guide/mentor to high school students/participants throughout the virtual program

  • leading evening familia debriefings with students, and discussions on their takeaways for that day

  • leading Icebreakers or activities for student participants to get to know each other better

  • ensuring that students/participants are attending HCI to its entirety and respecting presenters.

JR. LEADS:  Applicants must be at least a high school graduate (by June 2021) and have plans to attend a college/university, community college, or technical school.

 Responsibilities include:

  • collaboration with one Familia LEAD throughout the virtual program

  • guiding/mentoring high school students/participants throughout the virtual program

  • in the absence of Familia LEAD, Jr. LEAD members will take on the responsibilities of leading evening familia debriefings, leading icebreakers or activities for student participants to get to know each other better, or any other responsibilities that the Familia LEAD would require
